For many years, PTIB-accredited New Image College (NIC) has had its doors open for exceptional and creative individuals who wish to hone their skills in acting, styling, and makeup. The private academy offers several windows of opportunity for its students to explore their talents and define their unique strengths by way of hands-on training and extracurricular competitions.
This Halloween, NIC will be holding its annual NICOWEEN celebration, a spooktacular event that invites New Image College students to participate in a number of creative challenges where they stand to win incredible prizes AND earn valuable experience to beef up their portfolio.

NICOWEEN’S MAKE-UP COMPETITION
New Image College has partnered with POISE Beverly Hills for a contest where students get to showcase their Halloween-themed makeup skills. This is a big deal that we are very excited about because POISE’s products are specially made for bringing out the best natural features in individuals on camera and on stage. Every POISE product comes in a variety of creamy, easy-to-blend shades – making it ideal for the wildest looks one can ever imagine. The POISE Brand is every creative student’s best friend with their diverse palettes and ethical, chemical-free and cruelty-free composition.
The winner of the NICOWEEN makeup competition will bring home a Grand Prize from POISE Beverly Hills with a value of $1,500, including $300 worth of POISE products as well as a special PRO discount from their online store.
NICOWEEN’S SHORT FILM COMPETITION
New Image College and POISE Beverly Hills further extend our partnership to creation of short films by NIC students. For many years, Professional Makeup Artists in Hollywood and elsewhere have decided to use POISE’s makeup products to enhance the actors and actresses featured in their horror films because of POISE’s high-definition formulas. They produce quality that matches skin tones with a natural touch – giving realistic flawless or textured skin even for student-grade productions. POISE’s products also adapts to lighting easily, coming in tones to match all kinds of lighting situations, even those that would be afforded on a student budget. The winner of NICOWEEN’S short film competition will bring home a Grand Prize from POISE Beverly Hills with a value of $2,250, including $300 worth of POISE products. Runner-ups will take home $500 worth of prizes, including a similar $300 worth of POISE products and other items.
BEYOND NICOWEEN
New Image College and POISE Beverly Hills’ collaborative partnership is more than just about celebrating Halloween through fabulous and terrifying makeup creations. NIC has officially included POISE’s makeup within its roster of prestigious mainstay makeup brands for use in all its Training Programs. POISE is very honored to play an important part in each student’s growth and exploration of their artistic imagination at NIC.
The NICOWEEN event will culminate in a huge Halloween party at the New Image College campus on October 31st, 2023 at 6:30 PM. There will be Makeup and Nail Art exhibitions, short film screenings from the competition, and the announcement of NICOWEEN winners, among other spooky highlights.
